Why does my horse need a worm egg count?
Testing allows you to treat only when necessary, helping to protect your horse from avoidable health issues while also reducing the risk of wormer resistance. It is a simple way to make informed decisions based on your horse's individual needs rather than guessing.

Regular worm egg counts are one of the easiest and most effective ways to support your horse's long-term health and welfare. In adult horses, worm egg counts are primarily used to monitor redworm burdens, which play an important role in preventing clinical disease and maintaining good health.

Our follow-up advice is designed to help owners understand their results and develop a practical parasite control plan that is appropriate for their horse, management system, and individual circumstances.
FAQ: Can i bring a horses sample from home who is not attending the festival?
Fresh samples on Saturday are preferred where possible. If you are bringing a sample from home, we recommend taking the sample as late as possible on Friday and refrigerating it overnight where practical.
If a sample is taken on Friday, please mark it as URGENT on the submission log. We will do our best to prioritise testing of these samples to ensure they are processed as quickly as possible.

Large Yard Groups (More Than 5 Samples)
Large yard groups (more than 5 samples) must be collected and submitted on Saturday only. Due to the volume of samples involved, we need to ensure all samples can be tested within the recommended timeframe.
FAQ: When will i get my report?

We aim to return results within one week of the event, although turnaround times will depend on the total number of samples submitted.
To maintain the highest standards of testing quality, samples are processed and reviewed before reports are issued. This means that testing is prioritised ahead of reporting and follow-up communications (with the exception of veterinary referrals, which are handled separately).
Reports are sent by email, so please ensure that a valid email address is provided with your submission. To help us return results as quickly as possible, we also ask that payment is made at the time of submission.
